About

My story

I found my way into making jewellery whilst studying for an Art and Design Foundation Degree in the City of Lincoln. I was able to explore a range of diciplines on the course but I found I kept returning to the workshop.

Since then, I have gone on to complete an undergraduate degree in Jewellery and Object at the Univeristy of Lincoln where I was fortunate enough to be taught by very talented designers and makers.

I trained as a secondary Design and Technology Teacher in 2017 and I have had the priviledge to work in wonderful schools including several of the ‘top state schools in the North of England’. During my teaching I used every possibility to share my interest in jewellery, from schemes of work to offering student extra curricula opportunities and staff wellbeing workshops.

My Base

I have settled in the Harrogate area of North Yorkshire. Working from a small set up for bespoke commisions and gallery items and attending local schools and businesses as invited for workshops.

My Approach

I wear jewellery that means something to me. My work is based around the connections that we form to the jewellery we wear everyday.

This connection is why I enjoy delivering workshops. The jewellery that is created in workshops holds much more emotional value than an item bought in a shop with no understanding of background. Whether the jewellery is created for themselves or for a loved one, hand made holds great value.

My own design style tends to be based on minimal, geometric and folding sheet materials. Please see my portfolio tab for images of my work.
